Enlightened Nonsense - 1997-2000, (22 min. B&W 16mm film, sound) 10 thematically related film works that were each shot, hand-processed and edited within a total of approximately one week. Each beginning with a specific gesture, the works express both the physical manifestation of different states of being and a desire to understand one's relationship to our physical and psychological limitations.
Enlightened Nonsense is ideally shown as a single channel (DVD), looped installation, projected in 4:3, on a frosted, 5x7 suspended Plexiglas screen (provided). The screen should be hung, so as to divide the room in half. The room should be completely dark and comfortably seat 3-5 people. The sound track should be presented in stereo with a supporting subwoofer and be heard loudly and clearly with no interfering or contradicting sound.
