01.55The Opposite of Ignoring  Chickens

Multichannel Installation
2022

HD, iPhone, 16mm hand-processed film

This work is a multi-channel installation documenting the artist’s interactions with 7 chickens. The symmetry and deep emotional bonds between them, formed during the pandemic have evolved into a living, relational archive that explores tenderness, sadness, protection, and death through daily interactions of care, collapsing the sensual and the intuitive, wildness and domestication and the nature of non-verbal relationships.

Coming together as an ensemble of various voices taking the forms of video works and live performances, the floodlights are cast on larger issues at play within Logue's career including anxiety and control, repetition, queerness, feminisms, soft butch visibility, resistance, and vulnerability.

A close-up on the artist’s feet in a pair of old lavender wool socks, spinning slowly on a splintering wooden studio floor, their co-dependence their curse.
